Polydimethylsiloxane,
which is also known as dimethylsilicone oil, PDMS silicone fluid,
according to the relative molecular weight of different, the appearance of colorless transparent volatile liquid extremely high viscosity liquid or silica gel, odorless, high transparency, heat resistance, cold resistance, viscosity changes with temperature, water resistance, surface tension is small, with thermal conductivity, thermal conductivity of 0.134-0.159W/(m·K), Light transmittance of 100%, dimethylsilicone oil is non-toxic and tasteless, with physiological inertia, good chemical stability. Electrical insulation and weather resistance, good hydrophobicity, and has a high shear resistance, can be used at -50℃ ~ 200℃ for a long time. With excellent physical properties, it can be directly used for moisture-proof insulation, damping, shock absorption, defoaming, lubrication, polishing, etc. It is widely used as insulation lubrication, shock proof, oil dust proof, dielectric fluid and heat carrier. And used as defoaming, release agent, paint and daily chemical additives.
Polydimethylsiloxane can be mixed with lanolin, stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, glyceryl monostearate, tweens, Spant and other surfactants to be used as emulsion matrix. Adding film forming agents such as PVP, PVA and cellulose derivatives into this product can enhance its protection. The drug release and skin penetration performance is faster than that of dolphin fat, lanolin and petroleum jell.
The polydimethylsiloxane can be used to produce Silicone Emulsion, Silicone defoamer, different Silicone adjuvants and so on.
